Maxxis Tyres Australia, along with the Australian distributor, Tyremax, is delighted to have taken on a Silver Sponsorship role with the Rapid Relief Team (RRT), a charity organisation well-known across Australia for its focused, compassionate and highly effective support for communities in need during times of natural disasters and crisis.
Tyremax Chief Operating Officer, Paul Hilton, says that Tyremax’s
own values are closely aligned with those of the RRT which makes it a fitting
partnership: “RRT’s tremendous efforts and invaluable support to those affected
by the recent unprecedented bushfires and drought – are issues that Tyremax is very
pleased to assist with through this sponsorship.”
“Operation Fire Relief”, an initiative resulting from the recent bushfires, is one the many ways the RRT is assisting and working to support fire affected communities and emergency services personnel on the ground. As part of the initiative, RRT’s teams visited communities in NSW and Queensland, providing a free BBQ lunch and barista coffee along with a $1,000 gift voucher for use at over 100 retailers.
During the devastating bushfires, RRT staff and volunteers worked tirelessly to provide meals, water and other necessities – dedicating their time to provide support and compassion, when and where it is needed. They set up catering services quickly and efficiently to provide meals for exhausted firefighters and other emergency services staff as well as for those who had to leave their homes.
“This is the type of organisation that doesn’t just talk about compassion
and support – they’re out there making it happen for communities who really
need it,” Paul says.
Also, part of Tyremax’s sponsorship is the RRT’s support for farmers and their families coping with the crippling effects of drought. Through its “Farmers Community Connect” initiative, RRT is bringing farming families together at one location for rural support, offering free BBQ lunches, 1-ton bulker bags of livestock pellets, counselling and mental health support and veterinary support services.
“RRT stands for community, compassion and support – which are also at the very heart of what Tyremax represents. Through our sponsorship we look forward to helping RRT and its dedicated team of volunteers to do this valuable work at a time when so many people need help,” Paul says.
